Inclusive Healthcare for LGBTQ+ People
At The Nurse’s Office, we offer comprehensive healthcare for LGBTQ+ people in a safe, welcoming, respectful, and affirming environment. We know that healthcare can be a scary prospect for LGBTQ+ patients. We want to change that for our community and provide a safe harbor for all people to get the care they need.
We encourage LGBTQ+ patients to reach out to us for any health needs. According to a report by lgbthealtheducation.org, “Access to care is especially critical for LGBT people – a population that experiences higher rates of HIV infection, depression, suicidal behavior, homelessness, smoking, substance use, and other health concerns.”
We do not want anyone to suffer alone or be without the healthcare they need. We are an inclusive primary care practice that can serve as your first line of defense against and treatment for various health and wellness conditions. In addition, should you need specialized care for any particular health concern, we are here to help you find safe care with specialists and arrange, manage, and coordinate that care to ensure that you are getting the best treatment.
In addition to taking LGBTQ+ patients by appointment, we accept walk-in patients. If you experience an acute illness and need to be seen by someone the same day, you may come to our clinic as a walk-in patient. In addition, we offer on-site lab work as needed. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or an urgent medical situation, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
We are accepting and welcoming new LGBTQ+ primary care patients to our practice. If you would like more information about us or our primary care providers or want to schedule an appointment with one of our nurse practitioners, please contact us by calling 860.603.3541. We are here and ready to serve you and look forward to caring for you.
